Stage I
We really didn't want to use a photo of a person in the rain. Really. But can you beat this image? We caved in face of the inevitable.

Stage II
We added an ominous, stormy sky as a backdrop for the type and to create a more interesting vertical shape overall. But our type is too small and flat on the page.

Final
We made our opening line larger and dramatically looming (cue Darth Vader theme). We made our second line dance—literally. This helps break up the static nature of the page and integrate the type with the image. We brightened up the blue in the type to increase legibility. Lastly, we worked on tightening up the composition by cropping a little here, moving type a little there, and making sure everything worked as a unified whole. Next time life throws you a little rain, get out there and dance!
