Stage I
For this classic quote by Elizabeth Barrette, we started with a "wacky" concept that would begin with jumbled type. However, it seemed too obvious a solution.

Stage II
We took a different turn, going with a very traditional blackletter typeface and adding boughs of holly. But it needs a lot more oomph!

Final
Oomph galore! We created a parchment-like background with indescribable edges to add softness and a sense of Victorian over-decoration. We simplified the holly boughs and shifted their color to be more subdued and in keeping with the rest of the color scheme. The results is a deceptive visual (it looks like it contains an "olde-tyme" platitude about tolerance) that hides a more whimsical quote. Have a wonderful holiday season!
