Stage
I
We love this quote both for its seasonal application and its
origins: allegedly it is inscribed on a stone seat on top
of one of the Highlands in Scotland. So its message functions
on many levels: rest & be thankful after your long trek
up the mountain (whether that mountain is literal or metaphorical)—or
park yourself on the couch after eating loads of Thanksgiving
turkey! Whatever your take on it, you can see that our original
type choice was much too florid and active for the sentiment.

Stage II
We changed the words to ITC
Cerigo but left the ampersand in Linotype
Zapfino. Here we get a nice, gentle contrast between the
upright words and the more dynamic ampersand, but nothing
so dramatic as to work at cross-purposes with the quote. Cerigo's
beautiful, rhythmic strokes are humanistic yet structured,
so we get a quiet message with dignity and grace.
