Stage I This beautiful quote seemed beautifully paired with this mysteriously glowing blue background. Our first ideas (after experimenting with a variety of typefaces) tried to pick up on the dimensionality of the background, but the "special effects" are interfering with the message.		Stage II Another sketch lays out the quote differently, with the repetition of "more" set off with heavier/italic adverbs in one line. But this composition isn't dynamic enough and doesn't integrate with the background.


	Final We finessed the composition to create dynamism and depth, then added color in the type to create a more interesting integration with the background. The "more" line builds in intensity like a crescendo in music, with a sudden still pause before the quieter "than ever before." The author attribution at the bottom is an even quieter coda. All in all, a symphonic design to express a musician's message.
