Stage
I
In honor of the Olympics, we chose this quote by Greek philosopher
Aristotle. The obvious visual accompaniment is the Olympic flame.
We first selected the typeface Socrates for the quote as one
of those inside jokes for designers, but it's too active and
downright spastic for the spirit of the quote. |

Stage II
Undaunted, we selected Rusticana as our typeface. Rusticana
is based on Roman inscriptional writing from the third and
fourth centuries C.E., which is close enough to Greek writing
for this exercise! We wrapped the type around the icon and
emphasized the key word "Excellence."
