Named for Mary & Jim
Research on "name letter branding" has revealed that we are far more likely to choose a product if its name begins with the same letter of our own first name.
How weird is that??
For instance, if your name is Dot, you're attracted to products whose names begin with D.
So when naming your new product, look at your target market and determine what the most common names are likely to be.
How? Use the Social Security Administration's baby name search tool to find the most popular names for each year.
Top American first names for 2007? Emily for females and Jacob for males. NameStatistics.com gives the current most popular names as Mary and James.
