Greeting card line earns Best New Product
Off the Record's line of lyric-based greeting cards, of which we designed serveral, was selected as the Best New Product in the greeting card category for the National Stationery Show.

The National Stationery Show, the top trade show in the industry, is held annually at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.

Our cards were designed for Sequel Designs, who in turned licensed the line to Off the Record. Learn more about the project!

Cairril.com featured in entrepreneur book
We are featured in the book How to Open & Operate a Financially Successful Web Site Design Business, edited by Melissa Peterson and published by Atlantic Publishing.

The book includes a number of success stories from businesses large and small. We replied to a request for pitches and were selected to share our own. Each summary includes advice for budding entrepreneurs.

Mills panel speaker at regional seminar—register now!
Cairril Mills, principal of Cairril.com Design & Marketing, will be a panel speaker at the Women in Business Seminar held in Columbus, Indiana on June 18.

The seminar series is hosted by Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman and is designed to help women start and grow their businesses. The one-day sessions focus on entrepreneurship and feature panels and networking events with successful businesswomen.

The series is also hosted by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs and the Indiana Small Business Development Center Network. Lt. Governor Skillman will be the keynote speaker at each seminar.

iPhone apps earn great reviews
Our iPhone applications, Questions and World Stories and Legends have received the thumbs-up from iAppPodcast, one of the industry's top reviewers.

The first application, "Questions," is a compilation of over 700 questions from movies, books, poetry, comic books, songs, musicals, and everyday life. The questions can be used as a game, conversation starters, or even as meditation prompts.

Latte liberals, Big Mac conservatives?
A recent study by Pew Research showed a relationship between political beliefs and preferred brands. Self-described conservatives preferred to live near McDonald's, while self-described liberals preferred to live near Starbucks. Starbucks also wins among women, the young, Westerners, and those with more than $75k annual income.

While entertaining, the study also demonstrates the power of brands to connect with people on a visceral level and give them a sense of identity.
