First United Church is a progressive Christian church that wanted
to attract IU students and Bloomington residents in their 20s to
40s. They hired us to create their site to connect with that audience.
Our design communicates the openness of the church using rounded
corners, warm colors, and photos that show the inclusiveness of
the congregation. Our strategy was to develop content specifically
for IU students and “church seekers,” use many testimonials
and photos of church members, and include frequent calls to action.
The result is a site that connects First United Church with its
target market and communicates its progressive approach.
We contacted Cairril.com at the recommendation
of a congregation member. We are glad we did. Cairril brought three
things to the table that we would not otherwise have had: 1) knowledge
of the pitfalls and subtle nuances of web design; 2) a disciplined
focus on our purpose in having a website in the first place; and
3) an excellent sense of graphic design.
The site Cairril crafted for us has been very well received. Indeed,
it has been a morale booster for the whole church. I am confident,
based on reactions we have had so far, that it will be an effective
tool for growing our congregation.
