The International Studies Program at Indiana University was a new degree
in a competitive field, so it needed to establish a strong position from
the start.
We developed the program’s marketing strategy around the theme
“Focus Wide.” With this oversized (11x17) brochure and self-mailer,
we turned heads by using a striking main image and metallic silver ink,
which makes the brochure shimmer.
The strong structure of the layout reassures parents that this a “legitimate”
major. The bright blue blocks and contemporary type grab attention while
communicating that this is a degree for sophisticated, savvy people. The
“Focus Wide” theme continues inside the brochure with expanded
typography and wide layout for the copy.
